Cessation Of Usage Of NRIC As Identifier
As part of SPC’s commitment to ensuring your data is secure and in compliance with Personal Data Protection Commission Singapore (PDPC)’s advisory guidelines on NRIC numbers, with effect from 4 July 2019 (at 5am), SPC will cease collecting, processing or using NRIC numbers of SPC&U and PDVL/TDVL members for identification purposes. All members will use his/her date of birth with last 3 digits of NRIC number as the main identifier as your NRIC number will be disposed by the system accordingly.

Your new User ID comprises your date of birth in DDMMYY format with last 3 digits of your NRIC number. For example, if your Date of birth is 31 January 1980 and the last 3 digits of your NRIC number is 123, your unique User ID shall be 310180123.

SPC will cease to retain all information and documents containing your full NRIC/FIN number in accordance with PDPC’s implementation timeframe of their advisory guidelines on NRIC numbers.
No, if you have previously provided your date of birth, mobile number and email address. SPC will automatically replace your NRIC/FIN number with the unique User ID which is your date of birth in DDMMYY format with last 3 digits of your NRIC number. Your password for signing in the member’s portal remains unchanged/same.
Your membership card/sticker is still valid and you will continue to enjoy discounts with your current card.
However, new user ID is required for card replacement/online registration. You have to sign up and obtain a new card/sticker from any of the SPC service stations.
